Katsuma Dan

Katsuma Dan came to ϲappin 1931 while he was a graduate student at the University of Pennsylvania with Victor Heilbrunn. He studied fundamental questions in cell biology and embryonic development using a number of marine invertebrates as model organisms.

Bronze Memorial Tablet

The tablet reads: "Alpheus Hyatt. First President of the Woods Hole Laboratory, 1888. He also founded its prototype at Ann(i)squam, Massachusetts established in 1880 with the aid of the Woman's Education Association and the Boston Society of Natural History (1838-1902)."
